About
Hey there! As co-founders of Allgirlithm, we want to thank you for visiting our site. We're all Stanford AI4ALL 2017 alumni, in our junior years of high school. For more about us, as well as the rest of the team, please visit our Who We Are page.
Why Allgirlithm?
The three of us met at Stanford AI4ALL, where we learned the importance of closing the gender gap in tech. Through this blog, we hope to spread awareness of computer science to all people regardless of background.
What is "Allgirlithm" supposed to mean?
We decided to name our blog "Allgirlithm" (pun on "algorithm") because of the “all” we could incorporate into it. This embodies our mission of encouraging everybody, especially females, to try out CS.
What kind of blog posts do you publish?
We’ll be publishing everything computing-related, including opportunities, tutorials, resources, and news.
Our mission is to make our blog easily accessible and all-encompassing.
How often will you be publishing blog posts?
Our current publishing schedule is twice every week, usually Tuesdays and Thursdays.
I don’t have much computational experience. What can I learn from Allgirlithm?
No worries! Allgirlithm is just for you. In our blog posts, we’ll be covering introductory concepts in CS, technological developments, possible impacts of tech on our world, and various opportunities and resources. We’ll also be publishing guest posts by women in tech. This blog is meant to be cumulative and collaborative. We’ll update our blog and post about new topics as you accompany us on our CS journey.
I have a lot of computational experience. Can Allgirlithm help me at all?
We try to vary our content to satisfy a wide range of readers. We hope that our resource pages and posts on opportunities, competitions, and contests will help you!
If you've already had experience in computing, we would love for you to contact us at [email protected] and contribute!
We hope Allgirlithm will help you in some way, whether it be imparting knowledge or inspiration or providing opportunities. Explore our blog posts, read inspirational stories of women in tech, or check out our resource page!
